Stay at Home Ministry Thank you for your continued prayers and support.  Hope you are doing well despite everything that is going on in the world.  We are doing fine, making the most of the stay home “request” (not an order), which has been extended until the end of May. いつも尊いご献金とお祈りをありがとうございます。皆さんのご健康と心が主に守られますように祈っています。 Hokkaido declared its second state of emergency on Easter Sunday.  We were able to do the Easter lesson for the kids at New Hope Sapporo, but the following Sunday was back to live streaming only.  Soon afterward, our weekly sing-a-long at the nursing home was put on hold indefinitely, and employees with small children at my part-time job/training at the children’s home and foster care support center were asked to work from home.  New ministries had already been put on hold, so we have had to come up with other ideas, such as doing English conversation classes online. However, we continued to pray for other opportunities, as our vision is to minister to the weak and needy. 北海道では、イースターの日に2回目の緊急事態宣言が出されました。第2波は1回目よりひどいので、家族で出かけるのはあまり人がいない公園に行くだけです。ニューホープ札幌は再びオンライン礼拝のみになりましたが、1回目の緊急事態宣言が解除して3回ほど教会に行けました。イースターのキッズプログラムを担当させていただいて、去年シアトルでやった Easter egg huntと Easter egg coloringを楽んで、イエス様の復活の話を伝えることができました。介護施設でのボランティアや福祉従事者の祈り会、児童養護施設と里親支援センターでの研修などがしばらく中止になりました。ママたちの学び会と地域の子育てサークルの開始はすでに延期になっていたので、別のミニストリーの方法を祈りながら考えています。個人のオンライン英会話レッスンを始めましたが、やはり私たちのミニストリーのターゲットである困っている人のために何かしたいと思いました。 But just at the right time, God also provided a wonderful opportunity, in accordance with our vision to minister to foster children.  In March, we were officially accepted by the city of Sapporo to be foster parents.  Shortly after Easter, we got a call from the child welfare office about a baby boy that needs a home.  Due to the coronavirus, the large group foster home for infants and toddlers isn’t accepting new babies, and with the shortage of foster parents, the child welfare office is doing a lot of scrambling.  We discussed it as a family, and decided to welcome him into our home.  We are a bit nervous about accepting our first foster child, but we are excited to be able to share the love of Jesus to him, and also meet other foster parents and children in the area, once fostering support groups start up again.  We also have a vision of starting a network of Christian foster parents so we can work together in ministering to our kids. そんな時に神様が素晴らしい機会を与えて下さいました。3月に養育里親として認定されて、4月の半ばに児童相談所から委託の連絡をいただきました。コロナの影響で、赤ちゃんの保護先が里親以外ないようで、現在近くに住んでいる男の赤ちゃんを預かりませんかという連絡でした。家族で話し合って、受け入れることに決めました。初めての里子なので緊張しますが、この尊い命にイエス様の愛を伝えるのを楽しみにしています。この機会によって他の里親や里子にもつながって、いつかクリスチャンの里親ネットワークを作りたいと思います。 Please pray: 1.  That we and our girls will be able to adjust well and accept this child as part of our family. 2.  That we will be able to make connections with other foster parents and children, and be able to start a network of Christian foster parents. 3.  That the coronavirus will stop spreading, and life will return to normal in God’s perfect timing.
